Different Types of Implant Overdentures

All-On-6 - Permanent

PERMANENT (non-removable) The image shown is the upper Arch. ** Performed under sedation.

Candidate: Fully edentulous patients.

The general process for this restorative procedure is as follows:

  • One of our surgeons will evaluate the bone level. If there is enough bone level to support the implants, the surgeon will proceed with the implant placement.
  • If there's an insufficient bone level, the surgeon will perform a bone grafting procedure to obtain the optimal bone level to support the implants (healing time is ~3-6 months).
  • If there's enough bone level, the surgeon can proceed with the implant placement procedure (healing time is ~3-6 months).
  • After confirmation of the structural integrity of the implants, your prosthodontist/dentist will install the permanent overdenture.
  • Your dentist will also provide you with helpful tips on how to care for your permanent overdenture.

****HEALING TIME: Please note that healing time is patient dependent due to each individual's unique physiology, age, health history, etc.

All-On-2 Locator Overdenture - Removable

REMOVABLE

All-On-2 is an excellent option for patients on a budget, with a great bone structure to support the two implants and the complete denture.

This type works like a snap-on button. 2 female locators will be installed on the inner side of the denture, and the male locators will be attached to the implant body. The denture will snap onto the implants to provide stability. This feature will help prevent the denture from coming out of your mouth when talking, laughing, etc.

*** The number of implants required to retain the overdenture depends on the patient's profile. Your dentist and our oral surgeon will discuss the number of implants needed during your consultation appointment.

This type of overdenture is called Locator implant overdenture, complete overdenture, or locator dental implant.
